Icono bizantino de la Anunciación de finales del siglo XII pintado al temple y oro sobre tabla, probablemente en el propio monasterio del Sinaí o, quizá, en Constantinopla. Su iconografía deriva de las Vírgenes tipo
Platytera (Virgen embarazada que muestra al Niño en un medallón circular que cuelga sobre su pecho) [1]. Como en el caso del icono de de Ustyug (FICHA nº 213: https://juliomontanes.synology.me/bases/anunciaciones/index.php?-table=anunciaciones&-action=browse&-cursor=212), el Niño se encuentra sobre el pecho de María, pero en este caso aparece sentado y pintado en una grisalla desvanecida para resaltar su carácter inmaterial (véase Foto 2A).
