Anunciación al óleo sobre tela de Peter Paul Rubens (ca. 1628), conservada en su Casa-Museo (Rubenshuis) de Amberes. El gato, adormilado al lado de la cesta de costura de María (cf. Foto 2), parece claramente una nota de intimismo doméstico, una simple mascota propia de las mujeres [1], sin connotaciones negativas.
