Poema que se encuentra al final de un manuscrito de la Visio Willelmi de Piers Plowman de William Langland (Oxford, Bodleian Library Douce 104 (SC 21678), fol. 112v). Aparece con variantes en otras muchas fuentes y, al parecer, fue utilizado como canción de cuna en la Inglaterra bajomedieval y posteriormente [1].

El manuscrito es de probable procedencia irlandesa, está escrito en Hiberno-English entre 1427-28 y aparece ilustrado con 72 miniaturas en los márgenes (véase SCOTT y http://www.luminarium.org/medlit/msdouce104.htm http://bodley30.bodley.ox.ac.uk:8180/luna/servlet/view/search?q==%22MS.%20Douce%20104%22&sort=Shelfmark,Folio_Page).

Los versos critican las murmuraciones de las mujeres en los templos y presentan a Tutivillus "demonio del infierno", apuntando sus nombres: "Tutiuillus þa deuyl of hell / He wryteþ har names soþe to tel / Ad missam garulantes".
