El denominado Bannatyne manuscript (antes en la Advocates' Library de Edimburgo, hoy en The National Library of Scotland Adv. MS. 1.1.6) es una compilación de poesía escocesa realizada por el comerciante George Bannatyne (1545-1608?) con poemas del propio compilador y de otros autores como Henryson, Dunbar, Lyndsay... etc. Varias veces impreso parcialmente (1ª ed., 1568), una edición completa en 4 vols. se publicó en Glasgow en 1898 por el Hunterian Club.

En una de las obras (The Cursing of Sir John Row upoun the steilaris of his fowlis), probablemente de finales del siglo XV, se utiliza la expresión: Fyre mounth and Tutivillus (ed. 1896, p. 301), precedida de referencias diabólicas a Gog y Magog, a Juliano el Apóstata, Semíramis..., y al Prince Pluto and Queen Cockatrice (sobre la relación de Pluto/Plutón con Tutivillus, véanse las FICHAS: https://juliomontanes.synology.me/bases/textos/index.php?-action=list&-table=textos&-cursor=0&-skip=0&-limit=30&-mode=find&-edit=1&-recordid=textos%3FId%3D73&claves=%3DVariante+Rex+Pluto).
