Mattheus Smallegange menciona, a finales del siglo XVII, una pintura sobre tabla representando a Tutivillus en la iglesia parroquial de Vlake (siglo XV, diócesis de Middlleburg, antes Bélgica y hoy Holanda), la cual todavía existía hacia 1675 [1]. Su noticias las recogen otros muchos autores flamencos posteriores que no llegaron a verla.

Tutivillus (aquí Titevullus [2]) aparecía escribiendo, con pluma y tintero (”calamo & atramento accinesti ad scribendum”), y en la pintura estaba inscrito el conocido verso:
